Creative Journey

When I first started this blog page, I was learning to sew. Creating..period…gave me such a thrill. I couldn’t imagine not sewing….hence the name SewCrazi. Somewhere along that timeframe, I picked up an old sketchbook, and began to doodle. A flame was ignited in me like no other. Since then, I have filled a couple of sketchbooks. Mixed media and collage pieces have crept onto the pages. The exhilaration I feel while creating truly brings healing to my soul. Here are some of my recent journal entries. This one started off with some Distress Oxides on the page, some splatters, and then some collage.Β IMG_4096-1

The spiral bound journal (Canson Mixed Media) above is now full! What a feeling of excitement that is. A YouTube video of a flip is in the works…crossing my fingers. Get ready for a southern accent y’all. lol

The following notebook (Strathmore Mixed Media) was one I began using in an online class and didn’t complete. This page is one I used black gesso on to cover a page I didn’t like, then collaged over. And as you can tell by the size of it, the stabillo all pencil in black, is one of my favorites!!

This next piece is on canvas…which is a rarity for me. I am learning that layering, is not a waste, and the backgrounds, when layered, are soooo marvelous! When I first began watching other artists, I used to wonder why they “wasted” so much material, just to cover it all up. Lesson learned. πŸ˜‰

So…in 2018, I hope to blog more and maybe, share some on YouTube. If you are interested, leave me a comment below telling me what you would like to see the most. May your 2018 be full of inspiration, creativity, love, health and happiness! Happy Holidays to you all!
